We provide a single, comprehensive psychiatric assessment via secure video for adults (18+) living in rural, regional, and remote areas.
Following your appointment, we send a detailed management plan to your GP. Your GP remains responsible for your ongoing care, including prescribing medications and arranging local support.
This service is designed for you if:
- you are 18 years or older
- you live outside a major metropolitan area
- your usual GP can refer you and manage your ongoing care
- you are comfortable using video for a telehealth appointment
If you are unsure whether your location is eligible, please use our postcode eligibility tool.
We commonly see people for:
- Mood disorders – such as depression, bipolar disorder, and persistent mood instability
- Anxiety conditions – including generalised anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, and phobias
- Obsessive–Compulsive Disorder – specialised evaluation and treatment planning for OCD and related obsessive conditions
- Trauma and stress – including PTSD and complex adjustment disorders
- Psychotic disorders – such as schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder
- BPSD (Dementia) – Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia, including agitation and distress
- ADHD (Review Only) – we provide advice on the management of existing ADHD diagnoses (e.g., medication reviews). We do not offer new ADHD assessments.
Your appointment is a comprehensive assessment conducted over secure video. We typically cover:
- your current difficulties and how they impact your life
- your medical history, previous treatments, and medications
- relevant family history and life stressors
- a discussion about diagnosis and treatment options, with plenty of time for questions
At the end of the session, we will summarise our recommendations, which are then written into a formal report for your GP.
For eligible rural patients, we bulk-bill directly to Medicare. This means there is no out-of-pocket cost for your assessment.
Your GP can confirm if you are eligible for a Medicare-funded assessment (Item 291). You can also check your location using our postcode tool.
We focus on assessment and management planning. We do not provide:
- initial assessments for ADHD or Autism Spectrum Disorder
- care for eating disorders that require physical monitoring
- assessments for patients under 18
- ongoing psychotherapy or long-term case management
- medico-legal, court, or insurance reports
- crisis or emergency services
